Nearly 30 years ago, I decided that dentistry was the field in which I belonged. I want people to be healthy, not only in the short term by filling cavities or placing crowns, but for the long term by emphasizing preventive care and maintenance.
I like to explain to my patients that their problems are manageable, and that I have also gone through what is happening to them. I think most people just want an honest opinion of what is wrong, and a realistic plan to fix it. I like to work with my patients and let them choose how to handle their oral health.
A native of Las Vegas, NV, I attended and graduated from Clark High School. My undergraduate Bachelor of Science in microbiology was earned at Brigham Young University. In 1985, I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am aware of the latest technology and dental treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results.

Outside the Office
My family has been a part of the Las Vegas community for almost 100 years. I was born and raised here, and so were my parents and my kids. I want to help make this a better place to live. My wife Shirlene and I have raised three children — Kaylee, JaNette, and James — and now greatly enjoy spending time with our two grandchildren, Cora and Elsie.
I have been involved with the Boy Scouts as an adult for more than 25 years. I also like woodcarving. I have carved over 650 bolo ties and given most of them away to scouts. I like running and hiking as well. I run in 5k races and even ran a Ragnar race. The Grand Canyon is my favorite place to hike; I have hiked rim to rim four times!
